THE CHILDREN MINISTRY OF NLBC

The Bible in Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it” with this at the back of our mind in New Light Baptist Church, our goals is to catch our children young for the Lord so that when they are old they will not depart from it.
The children in our church have their separate church where they worship and they are taught the ways of the Lord every Sunday.

In the children church, the children are led to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior before age twelve. They are taught to love the Lord, obey Him and work in His ways right from their childhood.

The children in their church are divided into three categories according to their ages:

• The pre-schoolers (Ages 1-4years)
• The younger children (Ages 5-8years )
• The older children (Ages 9- 12years)

All these stages are been overseen and taught by competent and God fearing teachers of the word of God who have undergone various training to be able to teach effectively.

Apart from training the children the ways of God on Sunday, we also have some other programmes in the course of the year that are organized to help the spiritual growth of the children. Part of this is the Vacation Bible School (V.B.S) that the church organizes for the children in our church and other children in our neighborhood during the long holidays in August of every year.

It is usually a week programme whereby an in depth study of the word of God will be done with other activities that will help the growth of the children spiritually. Physically, socially, morally and otherwise.

We thank the leadership and the members of NLBC that have been assisting the children church in meeting our needs. May God continue to bless His church.

I also thank all the teachers for surrendering themselves to be used by the Lord in molding the life of these young ones. God will not forget your labour of love. Remain blessed in Jesus name.
